Content: I am a Belgian translator and have been active in the translation market for many years now. Already as a child I had a great passion for languages, which is not abnormal in a multicultural country such as Belgium as we are born with three official national languages, being Dutch (Flemish or also called â€œBelgianâ€ Dutch), French and German. Therefore in Belgium languages occupy center stage in primary as well as in secondary education later on. Another reason why many kids in our country speak many different languages soon is the television concept. The fact that no movies on Belgian tv get dubbed, but are subtitled instead, plays an essential role in the early habituation of kids to foreign languages. Although I personally speak 5 languages (apart from the 3 languages mentioned above also Spanish and English) I only translate in the Eng-Dutch (Flemish as well of course) and Dutch-Eng combination. I specialize in medical and pharmaceutical texts such as information leaflets for medication, clinical trials or independent studies of a medical nature. Over the years I also developed a big interest in business texts, financial documents, stock market articles etc. Apart from these fields to which I give preference you can also rely on me for texts of any other nature such as marketing, customer satisfaction surveys, slightly technical texts etc. For the execution of my translations I use the most advanced CAT tools sure all professional translators are very much familiar with, being Wordfast and Trados and as most of us, professional translators, I take great pride in respecting the deadlines I am imposed by my clients.
